What is Hajj?
Hajj is the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah, Saudi Arabia. It is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and is mandatory for every able-bodied Muslim who can afford it at least once in their lifetime.
Steps of Hajj
- Ihram – Enter the state of purity and intention
- Tawaf – Circumambulate the Kaaba seven times
- Sa'i – Walk between Safa and Marwah hills
- Day of Arafah – Stand at Mount Arafat in supplication
- Muzdalifah – Collect pebbles and pray under the open sky
- Rami al-Jamarat – Stoning of the devil
- Qurbani – Animal sacrifice
- Tawaf al-Ifadah – Farewell circumambulation

Hajj 2026 is expected to take place around May 24-29, 2026 (8-13 Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH).
Packing Essentials
- Ihram garments (white, unstitched cloth)
- Comfortable walking shoes/sandals
- Sun protection (umbrella, sunscreen)
- Medications and first aid kit
- Prayer mat and Quran
- Money belt or secure pouch
